We love getting to do portrait sessions, and its even better when we are able to do them for people who love us (for the most part)! Last week Rachel got the chance to do a couple awesome sessions for a few college friends, and the images rocked out! Here are a few of our favorites…

Today we’d thought we’d post something a little different than what you may normally see, and that’s a recent corporate session we did for AVA Direct in Twinsburg. AVA specializes in building all kinds of custom computer systems, including high end workstations and extreme gaming systems, to business PCs and notebooks. If you are in the market for a quality built system for your self, definitely check these guys out!

While a majority of the work we do is wedding related, we do a fair amount of portrait as well as corporate photography. The challenge here is taking rather boring and mundane everyday objects and making them come alive in an image. It really is challenging at times, though it does help us keep our minds sharp! Here’s a few favorites from the shoot…

Today marks the conclusion of our 100 images highlighting the wedding of Becky and Ryan from June of our last year. It seems only fitting that we end with all the little fun moments of the reception. To end this beautiful night, we also got to see some awesome fireworks in honor of the upcoming 4th of July holiday. All in all we had a great day and we really felt like we captured the day. Enjoy the last day and all the little fun moments of people just letting go at the end of the night!

We’re back with 100 images part 9! Today we showcase the events of the reception, meaning the first dance and the bouquet and garter toss. I keep saying it, but we loved that everything was outside – it made ous job easier as we could move around quickly and grab shots of the action from a bunch of different angles. The first dance was sweet and fun – we love when our couples learn some “real” dance moves! Ryan especially made me laugh with his whole show of taking off the garter. Alot of grooms know how to ham it up, but I think Ryan wrote the book on it! Everyone enjoyed the night immensely and these parts were perfect additions. A few days ago we had the awesome opportunity to photograph the newest member of the Sems Family, and our newest neice, baby Ava. Aside from wedding assignments, both Rachel and I really enjoy doing as much portrait work as we can, and newborns are no exception! Ava did really good throughout the entire session, and she got plenty of support from her big sisters Sophie and Ella! Thanks again Paul and Julie for letting us photograph your newest treasure, and Paul, you better start saving up for all those future weddings sooner than later!

Today the 100 images continues with part 8: reception beginning.

Not only was Ryan and Becky’s reception amazing because of the location, but they also decided to have the reception outside. It was the icing on the cake for us because, as many of you well know, we love to use natural light as much as possible. Shots that are normally flashed now we shot just as easily as the rest of the day. We included a shot of Becky signing a picture for her dad. I usually find myself tearing up at least once at most weddings, but the speech made by Becky’s father had the tears rolling down my face. He said he’d always be her “biggest fan” and had her sign a picture of herself from when she was little. *tears*
After an amazing dinner, Becky and Ryan cut their cake – that is – they lit it on fire! The Bananas Foster dessert made for some awesome shots when Becky and Ryan set it on fire.

This past Sunday morning we got up bright and early (8:30am for those of you keeping track) and headed out to Boston Mills to shoot the engagement session of Natalie and Jon. These guys are tying the knot this coming January, and I have to say we had a blast climbing the slopes all morning capturing some killer images! It was awesome getting to do a new location such as Boston Mills, and both Natalie and Jon are killer snowboarders on the slopes, so it was all a perfect match! Luckily for everyone no one was strapping any boards to my feet at the top of the slopes, so suffice to say some ambulance driver out in Richfield got the morning off. It was pretty funny though being the only ones all morning walking around in black pea coats. Thanks again Natalie and Jon for being awesome models all morning! Rachel and I had a great time spending the first part of the morning with you guys. We wish you all the best with the rest of your planning!
